Description

The AP6ACO5 is an adjustable switching frequency, synchronous DC-DC buck controller with adjustable frequency from 100kHz to 1.2MHz. The control scheme is a voltage mode with line feed forward to enable easy compensation. The device with a minimum-on-time of 40ns controlled high-side MOSFET supports high conversion ratio, which allows voltage step down from 48V to low-voltage rail reducing system complexity and cost. The device operates at nearly 100% duty cycle if needed during input voltage drops as low as 5.5V. The AP6ACO5 gate drivers can source 2.3A and sink 3.5A current enough to drive large MOSFETS for up to 40A output current with as high as 95% efficiency. The AP6ACO5 mode is programmable in PFM for high light load efficiency or PWM to maintain low output ripple across all loading conditions.With its high level of integration and minimal need for external components, the AP6ACO5 simplifies board layout and reduces space requirements. This makes it ideal for distributed power architectures. The AP6ACO5 is available in the standard Green QFN3545-20 package with enhanced thermal power pad.
