Description

The EV2454-H-00A is an evaluation board forthe MP2454/MPQ2454, a frequencyprogrammable(350kHz to 2.3MHz) step-downswitching regulator with integrated internal highsidehigh voltage power MOSFET. It efficientlyoutputs up to 0.6A, and has current-modecontrol for fast loop response.The wide 3.3V-to-36V input range accommodatesa variety of step-down applications inautomotive-input environments. A 3.5μAshutdown-mode quiescent current allows foruse in battery-powered applications. The devicealso has a high-duty cycle and low drop-out modefor automotive cold-crank conditions.The MPQ2454 also achieves high powerconversion efficiency over a wide load range byscaling down the switching frequency at lightload conditions to reduce both switching andgate driving losses.Frequency fold-back prevents inductor currentrunaway during start-up and short circuit.Thermal shutdown provides reliable, faulttolerantoperation. An open-drain power-goodsignal indicates the output is within its nominalvoltage.The EV2454-H-00A is assembled and testedwith MSOP-10 package.
