Description

The EVB7251 is an evaluation board for the KD7251 multigigabit chip compliant with the IEEE Std 802.3cz™ specification for automotive multi-gigabit optical communication links over multi-mode glass optical fiber OM3. The boards allow optical communication links up to 10Gb/s and operate as a media converter between the optical BASE-AU port and the SFP+ module.The EVB7251 along with the rest of the components provides the functional and performance evaluation capabilities requested by the automotive OEM, TIER-1, or test house, enabling product designers to successfully evaluate KD’s technology and to shorten the time to market.Typical use allows the user to plug in a standard optical SFP+ module and enjoy a media-converter functionality. Complementary items are provided, such as optical fiber cable.
