Description

Demonstration circuit 2165A is a high efficiency, highdensity, dual-output buck converter with a 4.5V to 14Vinput range. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.5V to5.5V, and each output can supply up to 30A of load currentwhen the output voltage is within a 0.5V to 1.8V range.This demo board features the LTC®3884, a dual-outputpoly phase step-down controller with ultra-low DCR sensingand incorporates digital power system management.The LTC3884 data sheet must be read in conjunction withthis demo board manual for this demonstration circuitDC2165A.The DC21065A powers up to default settings and producespower based on configuration resistors or withits non-volatile memory without the need for any serialbus communication. This allows easy evaluation of theDC/DC converter. To fully explore the extensive powersystem management features of the part, download the GUI software LTpowerPlay™ onto your PC and use LTC’sI2C/SMBus/PMBus dongle DC1613A to connect to theboard. LTpowerPlay allows the user to reconfigure the parton-the-fly and store the configuration in EEPROM, viewtelemetry of voltage, current, temperature and fault status.
