Würth Elektronik introduces its common-mode chokes for signal and data lines
Würth Elektronik is introducing another series of common-mode chokes for signal and data lines – WE-SLSP – combining high current and voltage ratings with a compact design. These SMT components feature a low package height of just 2.5 mm, a high rated voltage of 100 V, and low leakage inductance.
The new common-mode chokes are designed for applications with coupled data and power supply lines that require high signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility where PCB space is limited. The component is available in versions with various rated currents and a wide range of impedance values at 100 MHz.
Variants for different impedance values
Applications for this particularly compact common-mode choke range from USB-C ports in consumer electronics, through PLC connections to 24 V to 48 V bus systems in industrial environments, to microinverters for renewable energy applications and 48 V PoE in telecommunications. The 5050 SMT package has a height of just 2.5 mm and its four terminals make it ideal for low-profile assemblies. WE-SLSP covers impedance values from 100 Ω to 2000 Ω at 100 MHz. The rated currents extend from 1.3 A to 6 A and, depending on the variant, the DC resistance is between 15 mΩ and 73 mΩ.
