Description

EVB-LAN9252-PICtail™ Add-On Board is used for evaluating Microchip Technology’s LAN9252, a 2/3-port EtherCAT® slave controller with dual integrated Ethernet PHYs. It is an expansion board compatible with Explorer 16 development platform. This document details the EVB-LAN9252-PICtail Add-On Board features and its connectivity to the Explorer 16 development platform. This EVB currently supports 3 plug-in modules (PIMs), namely [MA320003 (PIC32MX795F512L), MA240011 (PIC24FJ128GA010), and MA320012 (PIC32MZxxxxECx100)], on this platform.

The EVB-LAN9252-4PORT supports four Integrated PHY's via on board RJ45 Connectors
The EVB-LAN9252-4PORT supports SPI and SQI based PDI configurations with onboard PIC32MX and option to plug-in third part SOC's like Beagle Bone Black
Option for onboard Fiber Interface via SFP module
The onboard EEPROM to configure the EtherCAT salve configuration
