The AL5887/AL5887Q, AL58818/AL58818Q, andAL58812/AL58812Q are comprised of 36/18/12 programmableLED current channels each with internal 12-bit PWM for colorand brightness control through SPI or I2C digital interfaces.The devices are ideal for up to 12/6/4 RGB LED-modulelighting applications, and have three programmable banks (A,B, C) for software control of each color. An external resistorcan set up the global output current of all 36/18/12 channels.Each channel current can digitally be configured up to 70mAunder the thermal limitation of the package.Features of the AL5887/AL5887Q, AL58818/AL58818Q, andAL58812/AL58812Q are controlled via the SPI/I2C digitalinterface. A dedicated pin, INT_SEL, selects either the SPI orI2C protocols. The devices have a 30kHz, 12-bit PWMgenerator for each channel, as well as channel/moduleindependent color-mixing and brightness-control registers toenable vivid LED effects with zero audible noise. Users canbenefit from these devices’ ultra-low shutdown IQ PowerSaving Mode and easy software programming.
