A compact and efficient design of the electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter is, increasingly, one of the main challenges in a high-density switching regulator. Multistage passive filters provide high rolloff and are commonin high-power ac line applications where common-mode (CM) asymmetrical interference currents are more difficult to manage than differential-mode (DM) currents.
