The NCL30085 is a power factor corrected flyback controllertargeting isolated and non−isolated constant current LED drivers. Thecontroller operates in a quasi−resonant mode to provide optimalefficiency. Thanks to a novel control method, the device is able totightly regulate a constant LED current from the primary side. Thisremoves the need for secondary side feedback circuitry, biasing and anoptocoupler.
The device is highly integrated with a minimum number of externalcomponents. A robust suite of safety protection is built in to simplifythe design. This device is specifically intended for very compact,space efficient designs and supports 3 levels of log step dimmingwhich allows light output reduction by toggling the main AC switchon and off to signal the controller to reduce the LED current pointdown to 5% of full load.
