This reference design is a 750W motor drive for a washing machine or similar equipment, which illustrates a method to implement sensorless field oriented control (FOC) for a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with a flux, angle, speed and torque observer (FAST) software encoder or enhanced sliding-mode observer (eSMO). With a modular design, this reference design supports both the C2000™ microcontroller (MCU) and MSPM0 MCU daughterboard on the same motherboard. The hardware and software available with this reference design are tested and ready-to-use to help accelerate development time to market. · Wide operating voltage input range of 165V to 265VAC and 50Hz or 60Hz· Up to 750W inverter stage, 15kHz switching frequency, torque compensation, and automatic field weakening control· Modular design with either C2000 MCU or MSPM0 controller daughterboard on the same power motherboard· FOC motor control, supports both FAST and eSMO· User-friendly graphical user interface to control, identify and monitor the motor· C2000™ microcontroller (MCU) motor control software and accompanying GUI is available in the C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK version 5_01 and newer.
