Description

PMP40286 is a dual port car charger reference design. The output goes to a 5V 3A USB Type-C™ port and a 5V 2.4A USB type-A port. The USB Type-C port can be backwards compliant with BC1.2 and DCP configurations. The type-A port is capable of compensating for the effects on voltage droop when a smartphone or tablet is connected to the USB charger using a long cable. The solution efficiency is greater than 91% after USB switches at 12V input.
