Description

We have developed a ± 12V isolated DC / DC power supply reference board specialized for PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and FA (Factory Automation) equipment.Since many analog signal processing circuits for sensors are mounted in devices connected to field buses related to PLCs and FA devices, high precision, positive and negative power supplies are required. In addition, insulation of the power supply is indispensable for reliability reasons to prevent the accidental failure of the sensor node from spreading to the entire system.This reference board is designed using Analog Devices' isolated power controller IC (Model: LT8302) and a general-purpose transformer (Wurth Elektronik, Inc. model number: 750313443). Insulated power supplies often cause problems with the availability of transformers, but since they are general-purpose products, they can be safely applied to systems for PLCs and FA devices.

  • Operates in the input voltage range of 2.8V to 42V
  • Can supply up to 18W of power
  • By directly sampling the isolated output voltage from the flyback waveform on the primary side, the device can be regulated without the need for a third winding and an optical isolator.
