SC8886S is a synchronous buck-boost charger that supports buck mode, boost mode, and buck-boost mode when charging forward or reversely. SC8886S manages 1 to 4 battery charging, SC8886S input range from 3.5V to 24V, it supports pre-charge, constant current charge, constant voltage charge. The battery reverse discharge mode supports a wide output range of 3V to 24V with an adjustable step size of up to 8mV. SC8886S to be compatible with the Intel IMVP8/IMVP9 specification, it integrates pins for real-time monitoring of system power, adapter current, and battery current, and integrates active-low PROCHOT fast interrupts for CPU derating processing. SC8886S adopts NVDC power path management, and supports dynamic power management of input current and input voltage, which can automatically adjust the charging current and prioritize the system power. The SMBus port allows users to easily set the charge/discharge mode and flexibly program the charge current, charge voltage, VINREG voltage, input current limit, reverse OTG output voltage, OTG output current, switching frequency, and other parameters. In addition, the adapter input current limit and battery charge voltage can also be set by an external resistor. SC8886S supports pass-through mode, which can reduce switching losses during forward charging. When only the battery supplies power to the system alone, the SC8886S also supports the Vmin system voltage active protection function, which uses the input capacitor to quickly forward replenish the power to ensure that the system voltage does not drop during peak power. SC8886S integrates a 10-bit ADC for easy voltage, current, and power monitoring. The SC8886 supports both learning mode for fuel gauge applications and transport mode for long standby periods. Operate in learning mode and transport power saving mode. SC8886S integrates comprehensive system protection, including input overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, system and battery overvoltage protection, MOSFET overcurrent protection, and chip overtemperature protection. SC8886S is available in a 4mm x 4mm QFN-32 package.
