Characteristics

The Push-Pull converter is an isolating voltage switching regulator. Depending on the selected winding ratio of the transformer, the output voltage can be higher, lower or equal to the input voltage.

The feedback signal of the isolated output side can be fed back either via a winding of the transformer or through an optocoupler.

The circuit is somewhat more complex, but offers higher efficiency than a flyback converter. A common application is the galvanic isolation of interfaces and sensors.
