Electronic devices are getting more efficient and smaller. Therefore it is important that electronic components are designed accordingly. To fulfill these requirements WE inductors are using optimized core materials and suitable wire shapes like flat wire. The WE-XHMI series features an extremely high current capability of up to 56 A saturation current and the ability to handle high current transient peaks. Its design with flat wire coil and a composite core material ensures low AC copper losses and stable behavior under temperature fluctuations.

Parasitic Capacitance

Using flat wire is space saving and requires less space on the PCB than an equivalent round wire inductor in terms of volume. When comparing 1:1 sizes, flat wire inductors offer better rated currents than an equivalent round wire inductors and therefore can be operated at higher currents.
