Due to our long term availability policy Würth Electronic eiSos offers beside radio modules with most actual technology and chipset still the predecessor modules. Many of this successor modules even have similar footprints, at least when considering the active pins. This application note describes which parameters differ, which modules support interoperable radio protocols, which adoptions to the host are needed, and in general, what to consider and expect when switching in between module generations.
