Christmas engagement with lasting impact

With its ongoing commitment to social initiatives in the region, Würth Elektronik continues to demonstrate strong social responsibility. During the most recent Advent season, employees once again came together to support a good cause. At four Christmas after-work events held at different locations, employees collected donations for Sonnenhof, a facility supporting people with disabilities in Schwäbisch Hall. Würth Elektronik increased the collected amount to a total donation of €3,500, which has now been officially handed over to the Freundeskreis des Sonnenhofs e.V. (Friends of Sonnenhof Association).

The centerpiece of the fundraising campaign was the company Christmas market in Waldenburg. At the largest of the Christmas after-work events, employees and their families gathered to celebrate the end of the year together.

Homemade treats such as mulled wine, punch, cookies, grilled sausages, and crêpes, along with handmade gift ideas from a small arts and crafts market, created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This event was organized by the “eiSos Spirit” project group, which focuses on strengthening corporate culture.

Under the motto “Pay what it's worth to you,” participants enjoyed festivities while generously supporting the cause. Similar fundraising activities took place simultaneously in Munich, Berlin, and Trier, all driven by the same sense of community and social engagement.

Commitment that makes a difference

Würth Elektronik topped up the donations collected during the campaign to reach a total of €3,500. The official donation check was presented to Freundeskreis des Sonnenhofs e.V. on February 13.

“Supporting social projects in our region is very important to us. Social responsibility is an integral part of our corporate culture,” says Sebastian Valet, Managing Director of Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG. “We are therefore all the more delighted that, together with our employees, we were able to contribute to the valuable work of Sonnenhof.”

The Freundeskreis Sonnenhof: Enabling Participation

The donation will benefit Freundeskreis des Sonnenhofs e.V. Sonnenhof supports people with disabilities and their families throughout the Hohenlohe-Franken region, offering a wide range of services. These include inclusive housing, assisted living, educational programs, daycare centers, schools, outpatient support services, and diverse leisure activities.

The goal is to enable people to live as independently and meaningfully as possible, regardless of their individual circumstances. The Friends of Sonnenhof Association ensures that individuals with disabilities can participate in Sonnenhof's programs regardless of their financial situation.

Doris Karabanov, Chairwoman of the Freundeskreis des Sonnenhofs e.V., expresses her gratitude: “This donation is a sign of appreciation for our work and enables us to continue providing rapid and unbureaucratic assistance where it is needed.”

Responsibility as part of corporate culture

The annual Christmas donation campaign is a visible example of the social solidarity deeply embedded in Würth Elektronik's corporate culture. The company and its employees see themselves as an active part of society and, together with partners such as Sonnenhof Circle of Friends, contribute, through both large and small initiatives, to shaping a future worth living.
