In this presentation we aim provide an overview of design options including integrated IC and discrete IC options as well as a fully integrated module . A study of a practical discrete PoE power stage design will be conducted. We will look at how to go from a reference design to a fully working prototype. This will involve transformer design and selection, switching devices optimization, loop stability as well as EMC challenges.
