Interference Suppression: From Workshop to DIY Kit

Würth Elektronik eiSos at EMV 2019

As a specialist for electromagnetic compatibility and interference suppression, Würth Elektronik eiSos will be represented at EMV 2019 (March 19-21, 2019, Messe Stuttgart convention center) with a booth and conference contributions. The manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical components will present solutions for electromagnetic compatibility at booth C2/609. Highlights include the new WE-CLFS mains filter and shielding material for prototyping. Würth Elektronik eiSos is intensively involved in the trade show program and the exhibitor’s EMC specialists provide important stimuli: In a compact seminar and two workshops, developers can find out about electro-magnetic field shielding and absorption against the backdrop of electronic miniaturization and EMC suppression in the GHz range.

Würth Elektronik eiSos participates in the congress exhibition at EMV with three contributions: The compact seminar from Jorge Victoria on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 11.00-12.00 am, entitled: “EMI Reduction with Magnetic Absorbers”. It addresses the challenges posed by wireless technologies and advancing miniaturization of electronic devices, and identifies the capabilities, materials, and techniques needed to manage electromagnetic interference in this environment. There are two workshops on the Thursday: "Practical RF and EMC Troubleshooting - Methodologies and Hands-On Demonstrations" 8.30 to 11.30 am with Dr. Heinz Zenker and Lee Hill from Silent Solutions, and 1.00 - 4.00 pm the workshop from Markus Holzbrecher: "Current challenges and opportunities in EMC suppression up to the GHz range" with many practical design tips.

Shield correctly

Würth Elektronik eiSos will showcase the new fully shielded WE-CLFS line filters on the booth. These are very compact, easy-to-use single-phase filters for industrial electronics, switch mode power supplies, telecommunication devices and household appliances. WE-CLFS is used for attenuation of common-mode and differentiation-mode interference over a wide frequency range. Simulation models are available for this VDE and UL-certified filter. Also to be seen on the booth: “ShielDIY - Do It Yourself Custom Shielding Cabinets”. Würth Elektronik eiSos offers the proven material of its shielding cabinets as sheets with pre-embossed fold lines. This enables EMC-sensitive components to be clad and protected for prototyping with the minimum effort.
