Bus stands in front of the building of Würth Elektronik ICS

Niedernhall, 24 August 2023 – Würth Elektronik ICS has sponsored the provision of a used diesel bus converted into an electric bus for the Freie Schule Anne-Sophie in Künzelsau. The manufacturer of power distribution solutions for mobile machines and commercial vehicles is thus supporting another project in the field of sustainability and climate friendliness. The climate-friendly electrification solution for the joint bus project "Get ready for the future" comes from pepper motion GmbH, a specialist in converting vehicles with conventional combustion engines to electric drive.

Freie Schule Anne-Sophie in Künzelsau place great importance on sustainability and environmental awareness. The use of the electric bus converted by pepper motion is another building block in the school's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

Würth Elektronik also shares this commitment. Just recently, the company planted several hundred trees and shrubs on the grounds of the open-air museum in Wackershofen as a  part of a climate protection project, in which more than a 100 employees and their families took part. Dr. Klaus Wittig, Managing Director of Würth Elektronik ICS, welcomes this new opportunity for sustainable commitment: "We are delighted that the students and teachers of Freie Schule Anne-Sophie can be transported by a CO2-neutral vehicle. The conversion and electrification of existing vehicle fleets is an important part of the mobility revolution, and Freie Schule Anne-Sophie is leading the way here. It's great that we were able to contribute to this as well."

The electric bus will initially be provided by pepper motion on a trial basis until the end of the year. After that, a decision will be made on its permanent use.
