Last year, we made decision to partner with Uairrior, a formidable force in the world of battle bots. This collaboration marked a significant milestone for both companies, as it was the first time Würth Elektronik, in the Americas, has sponsored a team at such a prestigious level.

Throughout our partnership, we had the privilege of witnessing the incredible skill and ingenuity of the Uairrior team firsthand. Their expertise in designing and building battling robots is inspiring, and it was truly an honor to work alongside them.

As the battles ensued, we stood witness to the sheer power and dominance of Uairrior's Black Dragon, a formidable 250lb robot that proved to be one of the best in the televised competition. With a win rate of 60% in 2021, Black Dragon showcased the remarkable capabilities of Uairrior's engineering prowess.

Having the opportunity to partner with Uairrior allowed us to witness firsthand the dedication, passion, and sheer talent that fuels their success. We were privileged to be a part of their journey, creating unforgettable memories and friendships.

In retrospect, we couldn't have asked for a better team to collaborate with. Uairrior's commitment to excellence, coupled with their determination, ensured that our partnership was a fantastic decision. Together, we pushed the boundaries of innovation, embracing the thrill of competition while forging lasting friendships.

As we look to the future, we remain grateful for the opportunity to have partnered with Uairrior again for the 2022/2023 season. This experience not only showcased the incredible potential of battle bots as a sport but also reinforced our belief in the power of collaboration. We are excited to see what the future holds for Uairrior and are proud to have played a small part in their remarkable journey.

About the team

For those of you who don't know who Uairrior is, they are a team that designs and manufactures robots that compete in Discover Channel's BattleBots. They are from Brazil, but are up-and-coming in the United States. Even at the start of building their reputation, they have a proven track record of success.

They were born in 2001 as an extension of a robot combat project at the Federal University of Itajubá. The team is formed by students studying many varying courses such as engineering, administration, computer technology, mathematics to name a few. All of the robots are 100% developed by the students and supervised by a coordinating professor.

They didn't start competing in BattleBots until 2019 but have definitely made their presence known. By 2020 Uairrior was already in the top 3 of the competition!

What stood out to us the most was that the team is university created and run. WE know that the success of our future lies in the hands of our students. WE love supporting the learning and growth of our future! To top it all off, these students have welcomed us into their team with open arms. We are so inspired by their genuine, kind, respectful, and hardworking personalities. If they are our future, the future is bright!

Our hopes

We hope that they are learning from working with us as much as we are learning from them. By sponsoring & partnering with a team like Uairrior, we are fueling their educational opportunities and making sure that they have the resources to continue to compete.  Competing allows the team to learn how to work with people and build professional relationships.  As we said before, the team is formed by students. There are students from many different fields/degrees including marketing, management, electronics, mechanics, and more.

When people from all areas of study come together in an environment like robot combat it teaches the students to rely on each other to solve problems quickly and in a stressful situation. They have to communicate effectively & efficiently. They are resolving conflicts and working through real-life scenarios in a fast-paced environment. They are getting real life experience and putting their knowledge to the test. They will leave college with a degree, have experience in their field, and have connections that will drive their professional careers forward.

We are honored to be a part of their learning experience and hope they bring us along on their journey for a long time.
