What to do to get the most efficiency out of the USB power delivery protocol

In this webinar we will talk about how to look to the USB power delivery protocol and how to pass the compliance test. We will deep out what to keep in mind to pass these test with some practical hints and tricks. In this webinar we zoom in also on the choice of the right components around the buck converters. But also the filtering parts around the USB power delivery will be discussed so you also pass the EMC tests.

Pushing power performance forward with GaN- Presented by Würth Elektronik and Texas Instruments

In this webinar you will learn the difference between GaN and other technologies like Si and SiC. We will talk about the benefits that GaN can have for your project such as an increase of your power density and a shrink your design. We are going to look at isolated topologies for high voltage GaN gate supplies and talk about the EMC implications of moving to high speed switching converters. Furthermore we are going to look at Layout concepts examples and also focus on high current inductors for DCDC convertors.

24.6.2021: Wireless Power Transfer & Qi testing

June 24, 2021 at 14:00 CEST

Wireless Power Transfer & Qi testing

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is, besides charging smart phones (currently in the Qi standard limited to 15W), often asking for higher power levels (e.g. up to 200W) and the possibility to transfer user data automatically from IoT devices via the power coils. The presentation will cover an off the shelf solution from WE using a development kit. The background technology, application examples and available tools will be presented and explained. Eurofins on their part has been involved in Qi testing, where quality and safety are assessed, from the very start and has hence build up an experience of more than 10 years in this domain. During this webinar we will talk about an off the shelf solution using a development kit, the Qi testing process and some of the hurdles during testing.

8.7.2021: Improved signal integrity

July 8, 2021 at 14:00 CEST

Improved signal integrity through impedance matched circuit boards, so effective signal integrity debugging of high-speed digital interfaces is easier

Due to higher transmission rates and frequencies it is becoming more and more necessary to adjust the impedances carefully. The PCB, as the carrier of the components, is an important link between transmitter and receiver here. In this webinar you will learn which parameters in the PCB have a significant influence on the impedance and which ones in especially have to be considered when planning an impedance-defined PCB.

Learn about the advantages of various tools for signal integrity debugging of high-speed digital interfaces, including an eye diagram tool to detect rare signal faults in real-time, and monitor long-term stability. De-composing both jitter and noise components of signal disturbance to identify failure sources will be discussed. Finally, an oscilloscope-based integrated TDR/TDT analysis to verify the impact of the signal path on the signal integrity will be presented.
