Growth Market for Wireless Charging

Würth Elektronik eiSos is the host of the Wireless Power Consortium

The Wireless Power Consortium is the leading standardisation body for wireless energy transfer. Würth Elektronik eiSos is organising the European Meeting of the WPC from 22 to 25 August at the Hotel Hilton Munich City, and will play a key role in the "Wireless Power Trade Show and Seminar" on August 25. CTO Alexander Gerfer is the keynote speaker for the seminar section and Global Business Development Manager Jörg Hantschel will speak at the Qi Developer Forum on system integration.

Over 144 million wireless charging receivers were sold last year, and this year it is expected to be 259 million. The Qi standard has been developed so that these devices can use the same charging stations. This is being developed further by the 235 firms that are permanent members of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). The WPC meets five or six times a year in a range of global locations to discuss software and system integration issues in hardware design. At the same time, new products and applications are presented here, and the firms developing them are addressed. The focus in Munich is on new Qi applications in industry, medicine and the household. The "Wireless Power Trade Show and Seminar" is open to the public and provides a unique opportunity to learn everything about wireless power first hand.

The host of the meeting Munich (22–25 August, Munich City Hilton) is Würth Elektronik eiSos. This specialist in electronic components will take part in the exhibition with a large program at the same time. With its electronic components – more than 42 different coils alone – the German company is the manufacturer with the widest range of components for wireless charging.
