Embedding a component
"An embedded component is an active or passive component that is positioned (or formed) on the inner layer of an (organic) circuit board, module or IC housing so that it is completely integrated into its construction.
Embedded active components are integrated circuits. Embedded passive components are primarily resistors and condensers; there is already a focus on embedding inductances." (source: TechSearch 2007)
At Würth Elektronik embedding technology (ECT = Embedded Component Technology) is already used in a wide variety of applications.
